Ayurveda and Holistic Health

Ayurveda is a science-based healthcare system with practical therapies and techniques such as breathing exercises, meditation, massage, mantra, diet, nutrition, Yoga, a sister science to Ayurveda, and the use of natural herbs. Based in Vedic philosophy's timeless wisdom that reconnects people with their environment and true nature. Ayurveda focuses on how we live in a system of interdependent life cycles. Its relevance today is our desire to maintain health and balance in our fast-paced, high-stress world full of emotional upsets, job changes, ever-growing environmental fluctuations and sedentary, technological lifestyles.

The foundation of this life science stems from the biological phenomena we see every day in Nature, such as cycles and rhythms of Earth and celestial knowing. The first step in healing is understanding that we are included in the intelligence we see in Nature. For example, our inhales start from the trees’ This breath is our umbilical cord, our bond to Nature. The elements (ether, air, water, fire, earth) in Nature, can be recognized in our actions, our bodies, our healing, and in our perceptions. We cannot recreate these elements artificially. The innate intelligence we all possess is in the nature of cycles, flow, circadian rhythms and nature. We can perceive this intelligence in our cells, sleep, cardiac system, and unrecognized blinking of the eyelid. It all coordinates with the cycles and rhythms of the sun, moon, tides and astrological successions and phases. This intelligence is also apparent in the still-misunderstood triggers that cause the migration of birds and fishes. Seasonal cycles and metabolic exchanges inside our system can be compared to processes like photosynthesis, digestion, the changing colors of the leaves on trees, and the biochemical exchanges of puberty, menopause and aging. All the elements that we can see in Nature, we can see in ourselves and our seasons of life.

Ayurveda goes to the “root” of the imbalance, or disharmony, to heal by investigating the individual as a whole, as opposed to seeing just symptoms. The scientific investigative procedure allows the practitioner to discover vitiations and imbalances in the body/mind system. Healing starts from the roots of imbalance and completely eradicates all disease and disharmony, which is the goal in an Ayurvedic and Holistic Health session. Holistic Health strives for the most beneficial balance between all things and beings, past and present, individual and collective. Holistic health is health derived from raw, primal intelligence AND procedures from modern allopathic medicine and advances in technology, as well as between our individual selves and the universal oneness. It attempts to become independent of artificial, prana-deprived, and earth-harming substances. “Whole” is emphasized.

Holistic health is just that, health that is derived holistically. Non dependent on artificial, prana deprived, earth harming substances. Its for Holistic dependent beings striving to connect with the natural world and its healing intelligence. There is a true scientific belief even that there is a natural intelligence that cannot be re -created. One must look within and in a holistic way to find it, use it and benefit from it. There is a reverence and respect when using the raw, primal filled intelligence we can get from source, just as there is a reverence and respect for the modern allopathic medicine that is saving lives each and everyday. Its a balance to be holistic, its way of living that isn’t too far to one side or the other. A respect for the balance within your own being and the universal oneness that is sometimes hard to understand, grasp and live. Holistic health is working within these ideas and cohorts to heal ourselves in the most beneficial way for everything/everyone in and around us.
